This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and handle your information when you use our app, including all features like photo capture/upload, AI background replacement, gallery storage, and social sharing.

We prioritize your privacy above all else, and we’ve built our service to minimize data collection while delivering the magical editing experience you love. By using Crix, you agree to the practices outlined in this policy.

📥 What Information We Collect

We only collect information that is necessary to deliver and improve our service, and we never collect more than we need:

• Content You Provide Voluntarily: Photos you capture directly in Crix or upload from your device for background replacement, and any preferences you save (like favorite background styles).
  Important note: All edited creations are stored locally on your device by default, and we never access or store these unless you explicitly choose to share them via our temporary sharing feature.
• Automatic Device & Usage Data: Anonymous, non-identifiable data including device model, operating system version, app performance metrics, and feature usage patterns (e.g. which background styles you select most often). This data cannot be linked back to you as an individual.
• Temporary Processing Data: When you upload a photo for background replacement, we may temporarily cache the image on our secure servers only to complete the AI processing task if your device does not support on-device AI rendering.

⚙️ How We Use Your Information

Every use of your data is tied directly to making Crix work better for you:

• Deliver core features: Process your photos to replace backgrounds with your selected styles, keep your favorite styles saved, and let you browse and manage your creations in your in-app gallery.
• Improve our service: Use anonymous usage data to refine our AI model for more accurate subject detection, faster processing, and better background style recommendations that match your preferences.
• Fix technical issues: Use device and performance data to debug crashes, optimize performance for different devices, and ensure the app runs smoothly for all users.
• Manage sharing features: If you choose to share your edited photo with friends via our in-app sharing tool, we will temporarily host the image on our secure servers for 7 days to let recipients access it, after which it is permanently deleted.

We will never use your photos or personal information to serve targeted advertising, and we will never repurpose your content for any use outside of delivering the Crix service without your explicit written consent.

🤝 Information Sharing

We will never sell, rent, or lease your personal information or photo content to third parties for any reason. We only share information in the very limited cases below:

• With service providers who assist us in operating Crix: These include secure cloud hosting providers and AI processing partners, who are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and are only permitted to use your data to complete tasks on our behalf, with no right to use it for their own purposes.
• When you explicitly choose to share: If you share your edited photo to a third-party social platform or send it directly to another user, that information will be shared with the parties you choose, subject to their own privacy policies.
• When required by applicable legal obligations: We may disclose information if we have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to meet applicable legal requirements.

🛡️ Data Security

We implement industry-leading security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse:

• All photo uploads and processing requests are encrypted end-to-end during transmission.
• We prioritize on-device AI processing wherever possible, so your photos never leave your device if your hardware supports it.
• Temporary cached photos on our servers are automatically and permanently deleted within 72 hours of processing completion, and shared photos are deleted after 7 days as noted earlier.
• We conduct regular security audits of our systems and update our security practices regularly to address new threats.

✅ Your Rights

You have full control over your data when using Crix:

• You can delete all your locally stored Crix creations and app data at any time via your device's app settings.
• You can opt out of collection of anonymous usage data in the Crix app settings at any time, with no impact on your ability to use core features.
• You can request that we delete any temporary data associated with your use of the service by contacting us at the email below.
• You can withdraw your consent to our data practices at any time by uninstalling the Crix app from your device.

👶 Children's Privacy

Crix is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will immediately delete that information from our systems. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we may have collected information from a child, please contact us.

📝 Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will notify you via an in-app notification before the changes take effect, and we will update the effective date at the top of this policy.
